USACE Refresher Fall Protection Competent Person Training by Global Era Training

USACE Competent Person Fall Protection Training is required because the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers EM-385 (rev. 2024) and ANSI Z359.2 (rev. 2023) expect all Competent Persons for Fall Protection to complete refresher training every two years after their initial Competent Person qualification.

ANSI Z359.2 CONTINUING EDUCATION RECOMMENDATION 

OFTEN A USACE & PRIME CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENT

While ANSI Z359.2 issues this as a recommendation and not a requirement, some USACE Districts and Prime Contractors adopt the below training levels as mandatory, ensuring their Competent Persons and Qualified Trainers remain fully current and aligned with recognized best practices. This approach strengthens compliance, enhances consistency across projects, and promotes the highest level of safety training in fall protection.

Program Administrators & Qualified Persons

accumulate 8 Hours aka 0.8 CEUs every 2 years

Qualified Trainers accumulate 16 Hours aka 1.6 CEUs every 2 years 

NOTE: IACET aka International Association for Continuing Education and Training

The ANSI Z359.2 Fall Protection Code of Practice recommends that fall protection continuing education be maintained in compliance with the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET).
